As you dip your toes into 2020, it’s important to manifest a positive living environment that will help you thrive and achieve your goals for the new year. Here are five ways to establish a peaceful bedroom that will encourage your health and well-being.

1. Declutter your space.
A cluttered room can lead to a cluttered mind. If you have too much stuff lying around in a disorganized fashion, it can prevent your space from feeling serene and peaceful. Keep what you love, and get rid of everything else. You’ll feel better in no time.

2. Use a calm color palette.
Cozy creams and pastels are great for a restful bedroom. Stay away from dark, bold colors, and stick to shades that will accent your calming color palette.

3. Layer fabrics.
If you want to sink into your bed and instantly fall asleep, layer plush pillows, cozy duvets, and soft throw blankets. Layer different prints, colors, and textures to create an irresistible cloud of comfort in your bedroom.

4. Create a sitting area.
If you don’t want your bed to be the only sitting area, design a cozy corner nook with a chair, a small side table, and a reading lamp. Drape a cozy blanket over the back of the chair, grab a cup of hot tea, and allow yourself to get lost in a good book. This is an ideal space for rest and relaxation.
